WCT 1. Introduction: Getting started
WebCT is a tool that facilitates the creation of sophisticated World
Wide Web-based educational environments. WebCT provides a variety of tools
"at the click of a button." Features include course syllabus, on-line
chat, e-mail, calendar, grade book, and other attractive web components.

We will be adding, deleting, editing, and updating student data and tracking
student usage of course material. We will also download the data into MS
Excel and merge data from other sources - such as scantron tests.

This seminar will cover adding questions to the test database, building,
and administering tests, quizzes, and surveys as well as extracting reports
from the WebCT test environment using Respondus.

Word’s editing features for marking papers submitted by students.

shows and use animations and transitions to make your shows look more
professional. This workshop will provide a great deal of hands-on time to

Learn how to integrate multimedia content into your PowerPoint slide
shows. This session will focus on how to add narration, music and video to

This hands-on workshop is intended for faculty who use
streaming video encoded from either AVI, MOV or with Real Producer, and who
wish to address accessibility barriers for hearing impaired students.

Dreamweaver is one of the most powerful web processing programs. It
integrates well other programs and has favorable academic pricing.
However, it can be an intimidating program for first time users. This
session is designed help people wade through the basics of Dreamweaver and
how to set up the program for use.

will cover the Adobe Premiere interface, how to edit video using the
timeline and various options for exporting (on the Web, Powerpoint, etc.)

This program will help the participants engage their students in online
conversations. Participants will be able to see WebCT forum threading
among other options. Introductory to intermediate level.

Academic dishonesty has always
been a problem. It may always be a problem. However, online students
create new challenges. When you can't look the student in the eyes,
dishonesty is even more of a concern. This session will concentrate on the
problem of plagiarism. Papers of all sizes and topic areas can be found
online. Strategies for defining, preventing, and detecting plagiarism will
be discussed. Among the options,
will be demonstrated. As time permits, we will also look at the problems
of student verification and testing.
